Dayet Srij Lake

A short drive from Kasbah Hotel Tombouctou lies Dayet Srij, a seasonal lake that showcases the extraordinary diversity of the desert ecosystem. Depending on the rainfall and the water level, this natural space becomes one of the region's main refuges for migratory birds crossing North Africa.

At certain times of the year you can watch pink flamingos, herons, storks, ducks and many other species stopping here to rest before continuing their long journeys.
